<p>Democrats have said they are running against George W. Bush this fall or at least his policies.</p>
<p>But on Wednesday, they’ll announce that they’re really running against the Tea Party.<br />
 <br />
Democratic National Committee Chairman Tim Kaine will argue at a morning news conference that “the positions espoused by the Tea Party [are] the governing platform of the Republican party,” according to a DNC official who relayed details of the rollout ahead of time to The Daily Caller.<br />
 <br />
Kaine’s tack is a swipe at House Republicans for not offering more specifics of how they would govern if they retake the House.</p>
<p>But it’s also an attempt to force the GOP to own proposals by Rep. Paul Ryan — the Wisconsin Republican who is one of the few Republican lawmakers to propose a sweeping plan to tackle entitlements — combined with an effort to taint the GOP with some of the more radical positions taken by a few insurgent Republican candidates, notably Rand Paul and Sharron Angle, the GOP nominees for Senate in Kentucky and Nevada.<br />
 <br />
“The Tea Party is now the most potent force in Republican politics,” the DNC official said.</p>
<p>“While GOP leaders are still promising to hold town halls and online forums to develop a contract of their own, it’s already clear what that agenda will be based on what self-professed Tea Party adherents have said they stand for and the Republican adoption of the Tea Party.”<br />

The DNC will circulate a 10-point “Republican Tea Party Contract on America.” It includes a flier with the 10 points, a 30-second TV ad, and a website with supporting details that includes quotes from Republicans espousing each of the 10 points.</p>

<p>&#8220;During his baptism, Rhema is actually singing &#8216;Amazing Grace&#8217; at that pillar moment [Butler] goes from a bad guy to a good guy and then goes to South Africa to save all the little kids from the war,&#8221; said Teton Voaritskul, Rhema&#8217;s dad.</p>
<p>&#8220;It felt great,&#8221; Rhema said about making her theatrical debut. &#8220;It felt like God is really proud of me and he&#8217;s smiling right at me.&#8221;</p>
<p>YouTube videos of Rhema performing &#8220;Amazing Grace,&#8221; &#8220;O Holy Night,&#8221; Celine Dion&#8217;s &#8220;The Prayer&#8221; with Terry White and Whitney Houston&#8217;s &#8220;I Love the Lord&#8221; has generated more than a million streams.</p>
<p>People searching for holiday music found Rhema&#8217;s &#8220;O Holy Night&#8221; in December and sparked hundreds of thousands of plays.</p>
<p>The <strong>Maury Povich Show</strong> contacted Rhema&#8217;s father to feature her on its Most Talented Kids 2010, and Korean show <strong>Star King</strong> also booked her as a guest.</p>
<p>Rhema began singing when she learned to speak. Her mother, Wendi Marvanne, who was a local gospel singer, died of ovarian cancer in 2008. She often sang with Rhema and rehearsed plays.</p>

<p>Rhema said her mother and Houston are her favorite singers, but Dion&#8217;s classical &#8220;The Prayer&#8221; with Andrea Bocelli was her toughest vocal hurdle. &#8220;It&#8217;s actually the hardest song I&#8217;ve ever sung before,&#8221; she said. &#8220;I actually like it. It&#8217;s a great song.&#8221;</p>
<p>Major record labels have been calling Voaritskul to discuss potential record deals, but her father is not making any hasty decisions.</p>
<p>&#8220;Our focus is not trying to see how big we can be or how much money we can make,&#8221; he said.</p>
<p>&#8220;We just want to try to produce something that represents Rhema and<img class="alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-37062" title="Rhema album" src="http://www.goldcoastchronicle.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/Rhema-album-150x150.jpg" alt="Rhema album" width="150" height="150" /> something that goes along with our mission and ministry.</p>
<p>If we find someone who can accommodate that or is willing to work with that or wants to do that, if it&#8217;s a good fit, we will definitely consider it.&#8221;</p>
<p>Rhema is currently working on a gospel album, a Christmas album, and taking on singing dates across the nation. She released her six-track, self-titled debut in May.</p>

<p><strong>PHOENIX –</strong> A federal judge on Wednesday blocked the most controversial parts of Arizona&#8217;s immigration law from taking effect, delivering a last-minute victory to opponents of the crackdown.<br />
 <br />
The overall law will still take effect Thursday, but without the provisions that angered opponents — including sections that required officers to check a person&#8217;s immigration status while enforcing other laws.<br />
 <br />
The judge also put on hold parts of the law that required immigrants to carry their papers at all times, and made it illegal for undocumented workers to solicit employment in public places.<br />
 <br />
U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton ruled that the controversial sections should be put on hold until the courts resolve the issues.<br />
 <br />
The ruling came just as police were making last-minute preparations to begin enforcement of the law at 12:01 a.m. Thursday and protesters were planning a large demonstrations to speak out against the measure.</p>
<p>At least one group planned to block access to federal offices, daring officers to ask them their immigration status.<br />

<p>The volume of the protests will be likely be turned down a few notches because of the ruling by Bolton, a Clinton appointee who suddenly became a crucial figure in the immigration debate when she was assigned the seven lawsuits filed against the Arizona law.<br />
 <br />
Lawyers for the state contend the law was a constitutionally sound attempt by Arizona — the busiest illegal gateway into the country — to assist federal immigration agents and lessen border woes such as the heavy costs for educating, jailing and providing health care for illegal immigrants.<br />
 <br />
The opponents argued the law will lead to racial profiling, conflict with federal immigration law and distract local police from fighting more serious crimes.</p>
<p>The U.S. Justice Department, civil rights groups and a Phoenix police officer had asked the judge for an injunction to prevent the law from being enforced.<br />
 <br />
&#8220;There is a substantial likelihood that officers will wrongfully arrest legal resident aliens under the new (law),&#8221; Bolton ruled.</p>
<p>&#8220;By enforcing this statute, Arizona would impose a &#8216;distinct, unusual and extraordinary&#8217; burden on legal resident aliens that only the federal government has the authority to impose.&#8221;<br />
 <br />
The law was signed by Republican Gov. Jan Brewer in April and immediately revived the national debate on immigration, making it a hot-button issue in the midterm elections.</p>

<p>The commission appointed by President Obama to investigate the Gulf oil spill (the National Commission on the BP Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill and Offshore Drilling) does not include a single member with specialized knowledge of petroleum engineering.</p>
<p>This is akin to performing a heart transplant with a surgical team that has never set foot in an operating room.</p>
<p>Of the <a title="american Thinker" href="http://www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/president-obama-announces-members-bp-deepwater-horizon-oil-spill-and-offshore-drill" target="_blank" onclick="pageTracker._trackPageview('/outgoing/www.whitehouse.gov/the-press-office/president-obama-announces-members-bp-deepwater-horizon-oil-spill-and-offshore-drill?referer=');">seven members</a> appointed to the commission, not one is a petroleum engineer, and all have long-standing ties to the environmental movement.</p>
<p>This is certainly the case with Frances Beinecke, Donald Boesch, Terry Garcia, and Frances Ulmer, all of whom have close ties to environmentalist research and policy groups.</p>
<p>Beinecke, in fact, is president of the Natural Resources Defense Council, while Ulmer is a member of the Union of Concerned Scientists. How&#8217;s that for an unbiased commission on drilling?</p>
<p>If the president&#8217;s intention was to prevent future leaks, why would he appoint a commission with no knowledge of drilling?</p>
<p>The answer, it would seem, is that this commission was never meant to perform the task it was officially charged with.</p>
<p>It was never really intended to be a commission on drilling safety, but rather a group of environmental activist’s intent on regulating and taxing the oil and gas companies out of business.</p>
<p>Its report is unlikely to focus on improved safely measures with the intent of increasing oil and gas exploration and production.</p>
<p>It will more likely issue a blueprint on how to restrict drilling while extorting profits from oil companies by way of new fees and regulation.</p>
<p>Even as the commission hears impassioned testimony from Gulf Coast residents about the economic devastation of Obama&#8217;s ban on deep-water drilling (his <em>second</em> ban, the first having been ruled illegal by a federal court), its members continue to register their opposition to drilling of any sort.</p>
<p>Following recent testimony in New Orleans, during which prominent Gulf leaders pleaded for a resumption of offshore drilling, the commission&#8217;s directors, William Reilly and Bob Graham, offered lip service to the resumption of drilling.</p>
<p>But where were Ms. Beinecke and the commission&#8217;s other environmental activists during these hearings? From all accounts, they have been silent about the economic damage caused by Obama&#8217;s drilling ban.</p>
<p>There are two crucial lessons to be learned from the Deepwater Horizon accident, but it is doubtful whether the commission will comprehend either of them.</p>
<p>The first is that &#8220;best practices&#8221; exist which, had they been strictly adhered to, may have prevented the Deepwater Horizon accident.</p>
<p> It is for the commission to determine whether they were followed in that case, but it is incontrovertible that best practices have prevented significant accidents on all of the other 40,000 wells drilled in the Gulf.</p>
<p>These practices, with continual improvement, should prevent spills in the future as well.</p>
<p>The second lesson, and one that no one in government or the mainstream media seems to have considered, is that the Deepwater Horizon, however flawed its management might have been, had the capacity to produce a great deal of oil and gas.</p>
<p>Based on the enormous flow of oil from the Deepwater Horizon and others among the 33 deep-water rigs operating in the Gulf, it is clear that vast reserves of oil and gas exist off America&#8217;s shores.</p>
<p>These reserves are enough to make the United States energy-independent.</p>
<p>They are enough to revive our flagging economy, enough to produce jobs for hundreds of thousands of workers and to create secondary and tertiary jobs for millions of others.</p>
<p>Estimates of oil flow from the Deepwater Horizon have come in at between 40,000 and 100,000 barrels.</p>
<p>Taking a mean estimate of 70,000 barrels, the annual production from the well, not counting natural gas and condensates, would have amounted to 25,555,000 barrels per year.</p>
<p>One hundred such deep-water wells in the Gulf, producing equal quantities of oil, would produce over 2.5 billion barrels per year, enough to supply one-third of the petroleum needs of the United States.</p>
<p>This new production alone would add over $175 billion to annual GDP, and it would cut America&#8217;s annual trade deficit by the same amount.</p>
<p>Combined with increased onshore drilling, conservation measures, and increased production of natural gas made possible by advances in drilling technology, offshore drilling would render the United States energy-independent for the first time in a half-century.</p>
<p>Moreover, deep-water drilling has the potential to transform America from the slow-growth, high-unemployment welfare state that President Obama envisages into a prosperous, full-employment economy.</p>
<p>This new economy would not only be energy independent, but it might well become an exporter of oil and gas &#8212; as it is now an exporter of coal.</p>
<p>Expansion from the current 33 wells to 100 is a realistic goal, since it would not be necessary to drill 100 deep-water wells <em>annually</em>.</p>
<p>Oil flow from wells such as the Deepwater Horizon continues for ten to thirty years, or even more (as it has in the North Sea).</p>
<p>Ten additional deepwater wells per year, combined with fracking for natural gas on shore, would soon move the country toward energy independence.</p>
<p>For most Americans, new drilling and the energy independence that comes with it seem like a good thing, but that is the very reason why the president has appointed a commission hostile to increased drilling.</p>
<p>The success of the free market in the United States depends to a great extent on the availability of cheap energy.</p>
<p>By cutting off the supply of oil, natural gas, and coal, Obama ensures a continuation of high unemployment and an extended period of slow growth, and with these, the expansion of the socialist welfare state.</p>
<p>Nothing could be further from the interests of the modern-day Democratic Party than the transformation of the American economy into a flourishing free-market economy powered by cheap and reliable fossil fuels.</p>
<p>The fight over drilling, in this sense, is nothing less than a struggle for the future of capitalism in America.</p>

<p>It’s tough to fittingly describe these numerous members of the mainstream media who actively engaged in the debate about this conspiracy back when I was first introduced as John McCain’s running mate, and it’s impossible to legitimize any “prominent” media publication that continues to traffic in this bizarre narrative today.</p>
<p>It wasn’t just a few fringe characters in that <a title="http://dailycaller.com/2010/07/26/raw-journolist-emails-on-palins-downs-child/1/" href="http://www.facebook.com/note_redirect.php?note_id=412398553434&amp;h=ab67f63a57d6bdbeb8890c2908bc3d08&amp;url=http%3A%2F%2Fdailycaller.com%2F2010%2F07%2F26%2Fraw-journolist-emails-on-palins-downs-child%2F1%2F" target="_blank" onclick="pageTracker._trackPageview('/outgoing/www.facebook.com/note_redirect.php?note_id=412398553434_amp_h=ab67f63a57d6bdbeb8890c2908bc3d08_amp_url=http_3A_2F_2Fdailycaller.com_2F2010_2F07_2F26_2Fraw-journolist-emails-on-palins-downs-child_2F1_2F&amp;referer=');">Journo List discussion</a>. It included writers for major newspapers, magazines, and online news publications.</p>
<p>Those participating in this immature exchange in attempts to plant seeds of doubt and falsely accuse even included a famous historian.</p>
<p>This Journo List exchange exposes the warped nature of today’s media, thus explaining why many of us are forced, in fairness to the public, to utilize other mediums to communicate until the mainstream media wakes up and begins respecting the public’s intelligence and desire for truth in reporting. There is a sickness and darkness in today’s liberal media. With revelations like the Journo List exchanges, may the light keep shining to expose the problem?</p>
<p>It’s always darkest before the dawn. My hope, therefore, is that today, marking the anniversary of our nation’s attempt to show respect for our brothers and sisters, sons and daughters with special needs, will also mark the beginning of a new, more respectful discourse among members of our media who at least aspire to be fair and objective.</p>

<p>President Barack Obama, the honorary chairman of the Boy Scouts of America, will not speak in-person before the group on Wednesday at Fort A.P. Hill in Virginia, as part of the organization&#8217;s 100th anniversary celebration.</p>
<p>However, the president is sending a videotaped message to the scouts for Wednesday, the same day he will be in Manhattan to tape an appearance for ABC TV’s talk show “The View.”<br />
 <br />
Bob Dries, chairman of national news and media at the Boy Scouts of America Jamboree – a gathering that happens every four years and attracts thousands of scouts from around the world – told CNSNews.com that the organization was told on Monday that the president had scheduling conflicts and would not be speaking in-person at the week-long event.<br />
 <br />
The BSA had scheduled its Wednesday arena program to include remarks by the president at 11 a.m. in front of the more than 45,000 scouts who will be in attendance.<br />
 <br />
The White House did not confirm to CNSNews.com that the president would not speak live at the Jamboree on Wednesday, but reporters were sent an e-mail at 1:45 p.m.</p>
<p>On Monday announcing that the president will be in New Jersey on Wednesday afternoon to talk about the economy before he travels on to New York City to film his appearance for “The View’s” Thursday edition.<br />

Also, shortly after the White House e-mail was distributed, Bob Dries confirmed that Jamboree officials had been informed the president would not be speaking in-person but would address the scouts via pre-taped remarks.<br />
 <br />
Since the Jamboree was launched in 1937, sitting presidents have been invited to speak at the event in their role as the honorary chairman of the BSA.</p>
<p>That year, President Franklin D. Roosevelt spoke at the inaugural Jamboree, held on the Mall in Washington, D.C.<br />
 <br />
Obama’s three predecessors spoke at the event – George H. W. Bush in 1989 and Bill Clinton in 1998 in-person, and George W. Bush who spoke via video in 2001 when bad weather prevented him from traveling. George W. Bush did speak in-person at the 2005 Jamboree.</p>

<p>There are many strong, eloquent words in the dictionary, even very long ones, such as Floccinaucinihilipilification.</p>
<p>At 29 letters it is considered one of the longest non-medical words in the English language.</p>
<p>While saying it you even get to spit in someone’s eye and pretend it was by mistake. Ironically, the word is much ado about nothing and means “the estimation of something as valueless.”</p>
<p>It seems like a lot of effort at articulation to deem something worthless.</p>
<p>Conversely, the word &#8220;if,&#8221; so short and succinct, is often taken for granted though it is among the most powerful words in our lives.</p>
<p>It is upon this very simple two-lettered swivel point that our entire lives spin.</p>
<p>It means, basically, “on the condition that.” We learn the conditional value of &#8220;if&#8221; early on in childhood:</p>
<p>“If you behave, you will get a toy”; “If you eat your spinach, you can have cake.” It’s a slippery word that slides so easily off our tongues that we don’t take notice of how it controls us day in and day out.</p>
<p>If my parents weren’t so tough, I’d have more confidence.</p>
<p>If I was working full time, I wouldn’t be gaining weight.</p>
<p>If I get a promotion, I’ll propose to her.</p>
<p>If I saw a miracle, then I’d believe.</p>
<p>There is not a second or circumstance of our lives that is not controlled by <em>ifs</em>. It allows us to manufacture excuses by the dozen whereby we blame conditions or the lack thereof for every move we make&#8211;or don’t make.</p>
<p>After 40 years of wandering and blaming their rebellious nature on the desert conditions and every possible reason to justify disobedience, God brings the Jews to the border of the Promised Land with an &#8220;if&#8221; of His own.</p>
<p>Basically, He tells the Jewish people that they will be impervious to anything harmful, such as illness, famine, enemies, drought, infertility, etc., on the proviso, “IF” they keep his laws.</p>
<p>But in the Hebrew text, the same word used to imply if&#8211;the word <em>ekev</em>&#8211;also means “heel,” as in the heel of a foot.</p>
<p>In short, the same foot that hits the pavement to usher them into the land has the ability to pivot—to turn on one’s heel&#8211;and to drive them out if they stray from God’s laws.</p>
<p>We thus learn from this week’s Torah reading that our own actions will contribute to creating perfect conditions and not vice versa.</p>
<p>I’ve heard many a Jew say, “If I had more money I wouldn’t work on the Sabbath” instead of having full faith that by not working on that day God would step in and help.</p>
<p>When we start doing what we must and stop making excuses why we can’t, we will find Him there to sustain us even in our times; for, “man does not live by bread alone, but rather by whatever comes forth from the mouth of the Lord Does man live.”</p>
<p>We survive not only by the sweat of our brow but also with faith and service to the Almighty.</p>
<p>I can’t begin to tell you how many times as a student, as a journalist and working at ABC News and Fox how observing the Sabbath posed a challenge.</p>
<p>Yet I chose God and things always worked out in my favor regardless of how I stressed over it at the time.</p>
<p>Both in our personal lives and in our relationship with God, we have to stop relying on ifs, i.e., those perfect conditions in which we will find the impetus to pick up our <em>tuchuses</em> from the couch and start doing what’s good for us in life.</p>
<p>We have to create the conditions in which we thrive and thrive in all conditions.</p>
<p>The plant, the Wandering Jew, was named as such because like the people no matter where it is planted it adapts and grows. As individuals we must all learn to do the same.</p>
<p>The perfect time and place hardly ever comes. And so, perhaps the best sentence starting with the word &#8220;if&#8221; is from the great rabbi Hillel who said, “If not now, when?”</p>

<p><strong>PHOENIX &#8212; </strong>A federal judge pushed back Thursday against a contention by the Obama Justice Department that a tough new Arizona immigration law set to take effect next week would cause &#8220;irreparable harm&#8221; and intrude into federal immigration enforcement.<br />
 <br />
&#8220;Why can&#8217;t Arizona be as inhospitable as they wish to people who have entered or remained in the United States?&#8221; U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton asked in a pointed exchange with Deputy Solicitor General Edwin S. Kneedler. Her comment came during a rare federal court hearing in the Justice Department&#8217;s lawsuit against Arizona and Gov. Jan Brewer (R).<br />
 <br />
Bolton, a Democratic appointee, also questioned a core part of the Justice Department&#8217;s argument that she should declare the law unconstitutional: that it is &#8220;preempted&#8221; by federal law because immigration enforcement is an exclusive federal prerogative.<br />
 <br />
&#8220;How is there a preemption issue?&#8221; the judge asked. &#8220;I understand there may be other issues, but you&#8217;re arguing preemption.</p>
<p>Where is the preemption if everybody who is arrested for some crime has their immigration status checked?&#8221;<br />
 <br />
At issue in Thursday&#8217;s hearing, argued in a tan-colored &#8220;special proceedings&#8221; courtroom&#8221; inside the federal courthouse, was whether Bolton would grant a preliminary injunction to stop the law from taking effect while the federal lawsuit proceeds.<br />
 <br />
As dozens of protesters marched outside, the hearing marked the first round in the Obama administration&#8217;s effort to stop the state&#8217;s crackdown on illegal immigration.</p>
<p>The tension in the courtroom reflected a broader national debate over what has become a political divisive issue: whether police should have the power to question people they suspect are in the United States illegally.</p>

<p>The unemployment rate keeps climbing and the polling results for the President and Congress keep falling.</p>
<p>Conservatives are well aware that the Obama administration has relentlessly pursued legislation harmful to the economy, but just how bad it is and how bad it will become in 2011 may not have sunk in fully for the public in general.</p>
<p>Nothing among Obama’s legislative agenda and executive orders has done anything other than push the nation more and more toward bankruptcy.</p>
<p>Perhaps the oddest aspect has been the action of the Federal Reserve which is, in theory, an independent entity. Suffice to say, it is pursuing policies that reflect the same disastrous actions that prolonged the 1930s Great Depression.</p>
<p>Not surprisingly, Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke has pronounced the outlook “unusually uncertain.”</p>
<p>The worst is yet to come because the end of the Bush tax cuts on December 31, 2010 will generate major increases in taxation that will affect all but the appalling 40% who pay no taxes at all.</p>
<p>This isn’t redistribution of wealth. It is a penalty levied on investors, entrepreneurs, and those who still have jobs.</p>
<p>One of those policies, the president’s shut-down of drilling in the Gulf, twice rejected by the courts, will add thousands more to the ranks of the unemployed without any justification.</p>
<p>When the tax cut deadline comes at midnight on December 31, the “death tax” on estates will return, increasing 55% on estates of $1 million or more, but it won’t just be “the rich” who are affected. As reported in Investor’s Business Daily, “The lowest bracket for the personal income tax, for instance, moves up 50%, to 15% from 10%.” These brackets will increase 25% to 39.6% for others.</p>
<p>The marriage penalty returns and the capital gains tax “will jump 33%” and “the tax on dividends will go all the way from 15% to 39.6%&#8211;a 164% increase.” Wall Street will hit a wall of resistance from investors.</p>
<p>A spending-crazed Congress will have $115 billion more to waste and, according to the Congressional Budget Office, it will reach $2.6 trillion by 2020, a mere decade from now.</p>
<p>These funds are theoretically going to be allocated toward paying for the vastly expanded Obamacare “reform” of the already insolvent Medicare program.</p>
<p>A booklet by Michael D. Tanner, “Bad Medicine”, published by the libertarian Cato Institute, points how the fallacy—the lie—that an expanded Medicare will protect those now without such protection against rising healthcare costs.</p>
<p>The truth is that by 2019 an estimated 21 million Americans will still be uninsured.</p>
<p>Obamacare will cost far more than advertised; more than $2.7 trillion over ten years of full implementation and will add $352 billion to the national debt over that period. Insurance costs will skyrocket for younger, healthier workers.</p>
<p>Furthermore, Obamacare “will increase taxes by more than $669 billion between now and 2019, and the burdens it places on business will significantly reduce economic growth and employment.”</p>
<p>A July 23 Rasmussen poll revealed that 75% of likely voters say free markets are better than government management of the economy.</p>
<p>“Americans overwhelmingly believe that more competition and less regulation are better for the economy than more regulation and less competition.”</p>
<p>Wayne Crews, the vice president for policy at the Competitive Enterprise Institute, describes what is necessary for economic recovery, citing “massive spending cuts, deregulation, privatization, tax-cutting, avoiding of monetary inflation, and elimination of government-granted monopolies and favors.”</p>
<p>The Obama administration and Democrat-controlled Congress will not engage in any of these well known remedies. What is occurring is a deliberate policy to destroy the nation’s economy and with it the nation.</p>
<p>The trade deficits the nation has run, importing more than we export, will ensure we do not dig ourselves out of the hole for years to come.</p>
<p>Writing recently in the Globe and Mail, a London newspaper, Neil Reynolds warned that “Democracies produced Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy, fulfilling the expectation of Socrates and Machiavelli that democracies end in tyranny.</p>
<p>Now democracies are fulfilling the complementary expectation of Nobel laureate economist Milton Friedman that democracies end in bankruptcy.”</p>
<p>All hail, Obama! The Nation Killer!</p>

<p>Yes, America, you are watching while Washington burns and self-destructs before our very eyes.</p>
<p>What does a country and its citizens do as their nation continues to collapse from weak and misdirected Leadership?</p>
<p>What are you going to do? The Declaration of Independence states:</p>
<p>“To secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, that whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to affect their Safety and Happiness.”</p>
<p>“We are the Masters of our Fate and Captains of our Soul”. English poet William Ernest Henley (1849–1903). It was written in 1875.</p>
<p>We cannot permit the current leaders in the White House and Halls of Congress to continue in their efforts to lead us down the road of Progressive Socialism.</p>
<p>This is the current battle that we Constitutionalists face and we must be aggressive in our efforts.</p>
<p>Of notice is the Arrogance Incompetence and Dishonesty of officials as relates to Legislation, National Security, Economy, and is the rationale for multiple resignations and a serious change of government.</p>
<p>The Fate of the country is now in our hands and the plea from the majority of our citizens is to enforce our Constitutional and Existing Laws.</p>
<p>There is a growing list of documented violations by current elected and appointed government officials of the Constitution and their Oath of Office.</p>
<p>The 2010 November elections will be the most pivotal mid-term elections in our history.</p>
<p>Lincoln issued this warning in his inaugural address, “Any people anywhere, being inclined and having the power, have the right to rise up and shake off the existing government and form a new one.</p>
<p>This is a most valuable and sacred right – a right which we hope and believe is to liberate the world.” Being a representative republic, not a democracy, and “rising up” means other than revolution by use of arms.</p>
<p>The people must “rise up” (Stand Up as we say now) from the grass roots across this great country as we think of the greater good of this and future generations.</p>
<p>We are limited in the peaceful transfer of power…resignation, elections, and impeachment.</p>
<p>The oath is simple and reads: “I do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic, that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same, that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion, and that I will faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.”</p>
<p>Sadly, we have seen them violate their oath. Fraud, lying, and corruption are rampant and some have engaged in treasonous activities, and they effectively thumb their noses at us and have sold you to the highest bidder.</p>
<p>The Articles of Confederation were replaced with the Constitution, which granted the federal government enough authority to cultivate, promote and secure the Blessings of Liberty.</p>
<p>The balance of authority and individual liberty was understood. Power was confined to that which was enumerated in the Constitution with a certain and meaningful intent for check and balances.</p>
<p>Article One, S5, CII and the 10th Amendment provides the authority but this has been trumped by a system that rewards the powerful.</p>
<p>In 1803 each congressional district averaged 38,476 people. In 2010 it is forecast to exceed 710,000.</p>
<p>These numbers indicate power growth, and it effectively grew eight fold in the 20th century alone. No wonder our representatives seek to stay in office so long.</p>
<p>Power, money and benefits beyond the reach of most Americans are the basis now for many politicians and revolving door appointees staying in office.</p>
<p>They must be termed out. With incumbency comes power. The party in the majority assigns power, so a long-term sitting representative can expect such power.</p>
<p>A representative expected to stay in office in the 3rd Congress for approximately two years now expects 12 years, or 6 terms &#8211; so much for a “citizen government.”</p>
<p>But this can be changed through grass roots organization and discourse. We must make it a local imperative and movement….of the People…by the People… and For the People.</p>
<p>“We, the People” have had enough. Enough is enough. The Obama White House and identifiable Members of Congress are now on a progressive socialist and treasonous death march and are bankrupting the country beyond expectations.</p>
<p>We have watched them violate their sacred oath of office. “We, the People” cannot solely depend on the results of the elections.</p>
<p>It is now that many of these public servants (and you know who they are) must put the people and country interests above self-interest by resigning immediately.</p>
<p>A civil uprising is still not out of the question as “pain” grips the country more each day. I am confident many more resignations and new representation will be forthcoming based on the efforts of the people.</p>
<p>This means raising your voice now to your neighbors, family, co-workers, and friends. Be the Captains of your Souls.</p>
<p>“We are the Masters of our Fate and Captains of our Soul”. I pray for another George Washington to appear within the year and lead us.</p>
