The Ark is a family owned and operated with a combined 88 years of restaurant experience between brothers Jimmy & Jerry Kleinrichert.

From the moment you drive up to the restaurant you have a feeling you are in for a treat. The structure has an Ark like appearance. There is a bridge over the water and rustic wood inside and out. When you get inside there is a cozy ambulance with original stain glass windows from St. Pete’s Catholic School in Fort Wayne, India; tables are handmade of driftwood from the Atlantic Ocean; wooden logs shipped down from Michigan.

You better get there before the door opens up, if not than you could be there a long time. This critic can tell you first hand that it is well worth the wait. If you have to wait, you can sit at the bar and order wine’s that come from Noah’s Vineyard. Their wine list California, French, Italian, Chilean, Australian, German and Washington State. And if you are not into that, oh yeah! They do have good ice cold beer of all kinds. It makes your wait go fast.

They have a regular menu but most people come for the, all you can eat, buffet. We started at the salad bar with a chilled plate and enjoy just about any item you can think of, including caviar. They have crisp greens, an abundance of fresh vegetables, pastas, crumbled blue cheese, homemade dressings and more! Their dressing and sauces are made from scratch.

Don’t eat too much salad because there are still soups, side items, prime rib, roast turkey, not to mention a full seafood bar with salmon, mussels, shrimp, stone crab claws and raw oysters. Hold on for a second we have to make an entry in our day book to go back next week. Anyway, there is a separate table which holds warm drawn butter, au jus, gravy, etc…

To round out your plate with bread and rolls and three different flavors of butter! If you still have room, the assortment of desserts are delectable. Their Grandma Kleinrichard’s famous Bread Pudding recipe is made with her special sauce. And their Broasted Chicken is prepared to perfection every time. These two items are to die for!

We want to talk a little about the services they offer. They cater to private parties they accommodate small groups 15-25 in a semi-private setting or larger groups up to 80 in a private settings. The room is not available during high season time or on certain holidays. They also offer take out and when you bring the food home, you would think that you were eating there. It is that good!

They also offer Lunch:

Served Monday – Friday 11:30-2:30
Adults $10.99
Children 5.99

Monday-Thursday $24.99
Friday-Sunday 25.99
Children 10 and under 12.99, children three and under NO CHARGE

Sunday Brunch
Served Sunday only 10:30-2:00

All we can say is go and see for yourself. For all you get the price is right. The Ark is a true dining experience.
