Today’s headlines were supposed to be the political obituary of Scott Walker.   

The Union red shirts were supposed to be celebrating in joy today as Walker was to be vanquished.   It did not quite go according to script.Should we be celebrating?

Not yet.  This battle is anything but over.

The GOP lost two seats.  That was not a surprise.  The radical left cherry picked the districts they wanted to go after.  

They picked what they thought were the six weakest.  Dan Kapanke had an uphill fight all the way and Randy Hopper is involved in a nasty divorce amid allegations that he not only has a girlfriend twenty years his junior but helped her get a job with the Walker administration.

Considering the baggage Hopper took with him into the election, it is no surprise that he lost.

The media has been obsessed with the recall of the Republican Senators but has almost totally ignored the recall of two Democratic state senators that will happen next week.

Democratic Senators Randy Wirch and Jim Holperin were among the Democrats who left the state rather than vote on the budget that the GOP had proposed.   

There should be three Democrats on the state but the bright lights running the campaign of a third Republican challenger failed to get the number of signatures needed for a qualifying petition.  

They were two short.  (Memo to whoever ran that campaign.  For a qualifying petition, you ALWAYS get many more signatures than you will need)

If one or both of these members of the Party of Corruption can be recalled, the GOP will have a greater margin in the Senate. 

Why is this important?

The Democrats have gone back to their old play book and are trying to woo at least one GOP Senator to switch parties, much as jumping Jim Jeffords did in the United States Senate back in 2001.  

Jeffords ran as a Republican, but then he switched parties.  His move gave the Senate back to the Democrats.

At least one Republican is rumored to be considering such a switch.  If a Republican were to switch now, it would give the Democrats a 17-16 majority in the Senate.   

Any Republican considering this is certainly going to wait until after next week’s Democratic recalls, since a win by either challenger would make such a switch moot.

The two challengers in next week’s election are Jonathan Steitz and Kim Simac.  Steitz is a great candidate who has run a great campaign.  His website is Steitzforsenate.com.   

The real problem Steitz has is getting the word out about him.  He is in the Milwaukee media market and that makes any media for him very expensive.   Kim Simac is the other challenger.  

She helped organize the Tea Party movement in Wisconsin and spearheaded the recall effort in her district.  Her website is Kimsimacforstatesenate.com. 

Both of these contenders will need your help.  If you can contribute in the last days to help them get their message out in the media, that would be huge.  

Also, there are other groups, such as the Campaign to Defeat Barack Obama that are jumping in to help.  

There will be phone banking to help get the vote out.  More details on that will follow.  Even if you are not in Wisconsin, you can help.

This vote should have been a referendum on the Wisconsin Miracle.  When a governor and a legislature take a state from a $3 billion deficit to a surplus in a matter of months and no tax increases are involved, this fact should have been shouted from every rooftop in America.  

When you go from a state that is losing jobs at a record pace to being the state that in June created over half the new jobs created in America, this is a message that needs to get out.  

When you are able in just a few months to change laws that allow school districts to save millions of dollars, not lay off teachers and not raise property taxes, this is good news. 

Wisconsin should have been a referendum on a successful Republican administration.  This should have been a referendum on how well conservatism works.  Instead, the GOP leadership let the other side define the election.

For Scott Walker, this election was a referendum about his future too.  Walker could have broken the back of efforts to recall him next January.   Instead of supporting his work and those who would help him, he went to Florida. 

Walker has seen these protesters up close and personal.  They disrupted the opening of the State Fair a few days ago. 

Instead of doing something like having his own people there to counter the protesters, he just stood there like a punching bag.

Walker has been an amazing governor.  He has accomplished more in just a few months than most governors accomplish in two terms. But there are two parts to being a governor.  

One is governing and the other is campaigning.  Walker’s instincts for campaigning seem to be sadly lacking.

One thing we learned long ago, you do not play nice with the far left.  When they try to shout you down, you figure out a way to shout louder.  Those on the left are simply adult versions of 5^th grade school bullies, just with less class.   

Everyone knows with a bully, you either give them what they want and they will continue to harass you or you stand up to them and they back down. 

Neither Scott Walker nor the GOP has recognized this.   

When the left attacks, you do not back down.  

When the left attacks you do not try to make nice.  

When the left attacks you do not try to be their friend because they hate you. 

You stand up and you fight.

Scott Walker and the Republicans in Wisconsin dodged one bullet yesterday, but this is a lesson they had better learn quickly or next January we will be writing Scott Walker’s political obituary.

In a week and a weekend when the war of words in Washington DC rose to extreme caliber.

As deadlines approached and rhetoric led the day, there were indeed winners and losers.

While the American people are still looking for leadership from the hallowed halls and the White House few if any feel like winners. Congress continues to conduct their business regardless of the prevailing wishes of We the People.

In recent polls, 66% of the people have indicated THEY want or demand a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution.

Amending the Constitution is not easy and justifiably so. If it WAS easy, God knows WHAT the Constitution would look like after 235 years.

It is likely it would resemble nothing of its original direction and likely too that our republic would have crumbled away because of it.

To amend the constitution, either the House or the Senate can propose an amendment and 2/3 of both the Senate and the House must vote to approve of it or 2/3 of the states must call on Congress to hold a Constitutional Convention.

In order to actually ratify an amendment, 1 of 2 things must then occur. Either ¾ of all state legislatures must ratify it or ¾ of the states must hold a ratifying convention and approved the amendment.

The Supreme Court has set a “reasonable” time frame for such action to not exceed 7 years.

At a time when downloading an entire book to an iPad takes 7 seconds, 7 years seems an eternity but in context, the bills being put forth in Congress to balance the budget will take 10 years IF they indeed work therefore, 7 years IS the fast track.

Hitching a proposed balanced budget amendment to the debt ceiling vote, as was done with Cut Cap and Balance and the Boehner bill would have required a future vote on a balanced budget amendment and while both those bills passed the House, both were tabled in the Senate.

That brings us to the winners and the losers in this current budget/debt situation.

Winners 

As for the winners, one can place the Tea Party in that category. Without the Tea Party backed candidates sweeping into the House in November 2010.

It’s impossible to imagine that a balanced budget amendment would have even been a part of the discussion in any way shape or form.

When it came to raising the debt ceiling and had it not been part of the discussion, it’s a fair bet that the American people would have paid much notice to yet another raising of that ceiling.

Speaker Boehner, after much consternation, finds himself in the winner section. Boehner presided over and constructed not 1 but 2 bills regarding the debt ceiling that passed the House.

The first, Cut Cap and Balance receive some amount of bipartisan support while the so called Boehner Bill passed only after retooling and arm twisting on a strictly partisan vote. It is the sheer fact that both actually passed that makes Boehner a winner.

The American people, whether they believe it or not and whether they, because of individual party affiliation supported those measures or not, are winners because of the two bills.

The people win by virtue of the fact that the Tea Party has forced the issue to points never before seen in an attempt to raise the debt ceiling.

And because those elected officials who adhere to Tea Party guidelines are steering Congress toward a high degree of fiscal responsibility by insisting on no added revenue through tax increases and a cut in spending equal to or greater than any rise in the debt ceiling.

Losers 

As for the losers, first we find the President who rather than lead on anything regarding the budget or the national debt has failed miserably at every turn.

By law, the President must submit a budget and Obama’s budget, delivered to the Senate.

Was such a twisted abject disaster it failed to receive a single vote. 97-0 was the final count meaning that not even a lone member of his own party could bring themselves to vote aye.

Obama also stayed out of the debt ceiling negotiations until push came to shove.

And so leadenly was his too late involvement that members of the republican delegation, walked out on several occasions which eventually relegated the President to being a lecturer rather than a leader.

Over and over, Obama walked to the nearest microphone to blame Bush, blame the Tea Party, scold the republicans and chide private jet owners.

One must also place Obama in the loser category because through it all, despite his and his Press Secretary’s claims to the contrary, the President offered no plan.

On countless occasions, republicans from both the House and the Senate asked to see the President’s plan.

They demanded to see it. The sad fact was, flying in the face of what had been labeled as “the most well known plan out there” it simply never existed.

In what may well have been the ultimate slam, the CBO, when asked about the viability of the “Obama Plan” simply stated that, “We do not score political speeches.”

Add Harry Reid to the loser team. Within 45 minutes of the passage of the Boehner Bill, Reid tabled it without debate or a vote, just as he did with Cut Cap and Balance.

Within minutes of tabling that bill, Reid stood before a microphone and derided republicans and the Tea Party for filibustering HIS bill.

And not allowing a vote on it but the problem with THAT was that immediately after Reid tabled the Boehnr Bill.

Republican Senator called for the Reid bill to be placed at once for debate and a vote which Reid himself declined to do.

Further, in his rant against the right, Reid also attempted to make hay with the delay in a vote by the House on the Boehner bill because Boehner initially did not have the numbers he needed.

Oops. As it turned out, neither did Reid have the numbers HE needed and the vote on HIS bill became delayed by 2 days. When the Reid bill finally DID come to a vote it was shot down 50-49. Loser.

The Gang of 6? That bipartisan committee was convened to solve these problems hit some very partisan brick walls and disbanded only to reform in the 11^th hour and trumpet a solution to the stalemate.

What they handed in however was the barest of a proposed outline and nothing in the form of a bill which could be brought to any floor. Put the Gang in the loser section.

Also in the category of losers, arguably, are the American people, trapped in a sort of limbo by the politics of compromise. Up for grabs are interest rates, the markets, possible easing of unemployment and another recession.

A debt ceiling “deal” went into the hands of yet another commission trying to hammer out details and cobble together yet another bill which may or may not pass both, or either the Senate or the House and standing in the wings are those who will determine our national credit rating.

If whatever the next proposal is manages to pass both through the House and the Senate AND is signed into law by the President, we may retain our AAA rating.

If unsuccessful, we most likely will have our rating downgraded for the first time in history and the blame game will be in full swing.

The so called. Middle Measure was signed off on by Harry Reid pending the approval of his caucus meaning he himself was done negotiating while republican leaders claimed negotiations were not yet completed.

As this news slowly leaked, many on the far left were reportedly livid claiming they would NOT vote for the measure as it contained no new revenue…code for taxes.

The Middle Measure allows for an immediate cutting of 1 trillion dollars in spending over 10 years and a raise of the debt ceiling by 900 billion dollars. 

The “deal” also calls for a special committee of 12…or 6 depending on which early report you choose to believe equal in democrats and republicans to make recommendations for more cuts of 1.5 trillion dollars by the end of the year.

If those cuts are approved by the House and the Senate, an additional 1.5 trillion will then be added to the debt ceiling. If those recommendations are NOT passed, certain triggers are contained within the measure to kick in.

One of the triggers of particular concern to the republican leadership, and rightly so, is one that would cause deep cuts to the military which many see as already stressed and short on funds and which many on the right fear would leave our national defense lacking. On the left, triggers would make deep cuts to entitlements such as Medicare.

One thing NOT contained in this measure is a requirement that a balanced budget amendment be passed and sent to the people BEFORE the second round of debt ceiling increase and THAT may turn off more than a few of the republicans.

The sad fact is that tax increases, disguised as “tax reform” as a part of the 2nd tier of this measure will be on the table and a stalemate on that issue could well force the triggers to be pulled.

Something else that should be known about this measure is that it does not reverse the spend trend in Washington but simply slows it. Instead of sprinting toward insolvency, we will be walking briskly toward it.

The Middle Measure is thought to be harder to pass in the House than the Senate but look for far fewer republicans supporting it in the House than supported the Boehner bill.

216 votes in the House are needed and a mix of both party’s representatives will get it there. In the Senate, 60 is the magic number and it will be close.

A vote originally thought to on tap for late Sunday night was postponed until sometime on Monday but don’t be surprised if it doesn’t happen until Tuesday as Members of congress will want to go through the “deal” with a fine tooth comb. As of midnight Sunday, most Members of Congress were still awaiting the details.

The idea that the single largest increase of the debt ceiling with the nation’s credit rating dangling in the balance being concocted and voted on in less than 24 hours should well give all involved and the people who will be effected by it a great deal of pause.

It’s safe to say that leaders of both the Senate and House will spend a considerable amount of hours trying to wrangle votes in favor of a bill which has not seen debate or has been fully read by the Members all in the name of expediency.

Considering the track record of such legislation throughout this administration, this procedure seems like déjà vu.

If the Middle Measure does NOT pass, the downgrade is eminent. If it DOES pass, the downgrade is less likely but certainly not off the table.

If a downgrade occurs, Obama will be the first President to preside over one and he will likely become an instant lame duck.

The future depends on the American people. The surest way to right the ship of state and truly reverse the spending frenzy would be to gain a balanced budget amendment, even if it takes 7 years to come to fruition and the only way, it seems, to accomplish that is to sweep into the Senate, Tea Party republicans, increase their numbers in the House and put a Tea Party backed candidate in the White House.

While the current process grinds on those stepping to the cameras are agreeing on one thing, that there are elements of this Middle Measure which will make everybody angry.

So, this process tying spending cuts of at least as much as a raise to the debt ceiling is unique however, the execution of the process is still business as usual and any positive outcome from it seems to be more of a political pat on the back than a real life fiscal accomplishment.

As we have seen, as many have come to realize and in spite of what the Obama campaign of 2008 claimed, neither a politician nor a committee of them can change the way Washington does business.

Only We the People can do that

Some will say, “Lloyd, if your purpose is to inspire Republicans to stand strong in the debt ceiling debate.

Why on earth would you choose the battle at the Alamo which the good guys, the Texans, lost?

The battle at the Alamo is the birthplace of Texas liberty. Approximately 250 Texans died fighting for their freedom against the 1500 man Mexican army.

The Texans held the Mexicans at bay for 12 days before being massacred on the 13^th day.

What I find so inspiring about the battle is the Texans knew they were going to die. And yet, they knew the time had come to draw a line in the sand taking a stand for freedom.

With Bill O’Reilly leading the charge, pundits and Washington elites advise Republicans to surrender to Obama’s irresponsible desire to raise the debt ceiling and raise taxes.

These smartest guys in the room say, “Obama has the polls and the media on his side. So, why go down in defeat.”

Well I say, the Republicans must not allow fear, skewed polls and an ill-informed public to prevent them from doing what is best for America.

The time has come for Republicans to draw a line in the sand; take a stand by fighting the tyranny of out of control, self serving vote manufacturing and insane government spending.

Thank God we have tea party freshmen who are standing on principle and saying “no” to bankrupt the future of generations.

Here is how deep in the hole we are. Let’s suppose congress ceased all spending today and began making payments of 100 million dollars per day on our national debt. It would take us 389 years to pay off our national debt.

Can you see how adding to our debt would be insane?

And yet, O’Reilly and company advise the Republicans to compromise to save themselves. Such behavior is not character driven leadership. To the Republicans, I say, “Remember the Alamo! Take a stand for freedom!”

Unlike the Texans, I do not believe the Republicans will be massacred. The informational highway has changed dramatically since 1995 when the liberal media successfully blamed the government shutdown on the Republicans.

While I must admit that “Black Barack” Obama and his gang of media roughnecks are a “might powerful”, there’s a tough new lawman in town, Sheriff Tea Party.

Folks are still talking’ about how back in November 2010, Sheriff Tea Party and his posse of bloggers, talk show-errs, social network-errs and rally-errs kicked the Obama gang’s butt. They pretty much wrecking’ to do it again come November 2012.

And can we please lie to rest the lie that America will default on August 2^nd if we do not raise the debt ceiling? This is yet another Obama and his gang of media roughnecks scare tactic.

Patriots, our characterless president and his minions will stop at nothing to further their socialistic agenda and destruction of America as we know it.

Can you believe that after the Obama gang’s despicable attempt to make the tea party and opposition to Obama care a racial matter, they are now attempting to make opposition to raising our debt about race?

Black political operatives including Congressional Black Caucus member, Shelia Jackson Lee are accusing the Republicans of saying no to raising the debt ceiling because Obama is black. These people have no shame.

Obama’s characterless tactics of race baiting, blaming Bush, creating hostility towards achievers and commercials showing Republicans pushing granny over a cliff are challenging obstacles to overcome.

A dear long time black friend, Christian minister and mentor have bought the Obama gang’s spin hook, line and sinker.

After an enjoyable chat about religious matters, he shifted the conversation to Republicans and the debt ceiling.

Suddenly, he became extremely angry. After vilifying Republicans claiming their sole existence is to make the rich richer on the backs of the poor, he concluded his rant saying, “By not raising the debt ceiling, Republicans are playing Russian roulette with the lives of the poor and seniors. If I were God, I would kill them ALL!”

Wow!

I was struck by the depths of his passionate hate for Republicans. My friend is an example of the left’s successful hate campaign against achievers and Conservatives. Video

Still, I am extremely confident we will defeat Obama and his media minions in 2012.

Victory will require every patriot remaining focused and vigilant in their efforts.

To my fellow believers in Christ, I would ask that you continue praying for our great country; an extraordinary wonderful experiment founded on Christian principles.

As for the Texans massacred at the Alamo, months later, Texas won its independence at the battle of San Jacinto; their battle cry, “Remember the Alamo!”

Republicans, please hang tough. America’s future rests on your shoulders and backbones.

Bob Schieffer, host of Face the Nation, had Florida Senator Marco Rubio on the show to discuss the debt ceiling.

As much as Bob tried to change the subject to the process, Senator Rubio stayed focused on the problem.

What is the problem? It’s the debt stupid!

Schieffer tries and tries to pin the tail on the negations to raise the debt ceiling but Senator Rubio makes the point over and over again that raising the debt ceiling raises the national debt and therefore simply kicks the can down the road.

It allows politicians to say they are doing something, keeping the government from defaulting, when they are in fact doing nothing but delaying the default date.

Bob just can’t seem to understand that concept. But then again Bob is not one Marco is talking to, he is talking to the American people and the American people get it.

Despite an unprecedented 39% of Americans believing our country is in permanent decline,

And Obama’s approval rating down in the 40′s, Obama still owns “the black vote”.

I watched a television program reporting the impact electing a black president has had on black America. Black America responded with tearful celebration.

Black children chanted his name, “O-ba-ma! O-ba-ma!” Clearly, Obama was black America’s and the liberal mainstream media’s ultimate American Idol.

The TV program showed Obama’s image adorning t-shirts, tattoos and everything in between. Winning 96% of the black vote, Obama was truly black America’s impossible dream come true.

Black America’s passionate adulation for Obama was so intense I expected them to sing Hosanna in worship of their messiah. I felt like a little kid timidly raising his hand from the back of a classroom.

“E-E-Excuse me. Has anyone even considered who Obama is as a person and what he will do as president?”

According to the TV program, Obama is great for America solely because he is “African American”. The program producer’s neglect of mentioning Obama’s agenda leaves me to conclude they thought it irrelevant.

I questioned. Why are my thought processes so different than most of my fellow black Americans?

Why did I choose to look a bit deeper into the content of Obama’s character rather than my critique of the man stopping at his skin color?

The answer. I am not submissive to “The Black Code”. Most blacks grow up adhering to an unspoken subliminally understood, Black Code.

1.    You must kick the butt of any white person who calls you the “n” word.

2.    You NEVER let a white person beat you in a fight.

3.    Relationships with whites must be kept at arm’s length maintaining a silent “us against them” mindset.

Blacks who appear too friendly and comfortable around whites are viewed with suspicion; their “blackness” in question.

My natural instinct to relate to people as individuals rather than through an invisible wall of race has been a source of criticism all my life.

My family and friends have ridiculed me for having “too many white friends”. Today, I realize my ability to relate to people as individuals is a blessing.

What I am about to say most children instinctively know, and yet, it is a concept extremely difficult for many adults to grasp.

Good people and bad people come in ALL colors. Thus, it is wise to judge every human being as an individual.

The Obama Effect has been amazing, baffling and frustrating. Why do many of my intelligent black family members, friends and associates bow in worship of this man even though most of his policies clash with their Christian faith, principles and values?

Then, it dawned on me. The Black Code.

In loyalty to The Black Code, many educated entrepreneurial blacks turned off their brains choosing to ignore Obama’s destruction of their country.

Then there are other black Obama supporters who are fellow social justice zealots and loyal to The Black Code.

Al Sharpton and the usual suspects along with their sycophant clueless puppy dog white liberal media exploit The Black Code at every opportunity.

Exploitation of The Black Code is the left’s strategy to defeat the tea party and get out the black vote in 2012. Their think tank went something like this.

“I got it!

Let’s call the tea party racist.

 We’ll accuse them of opposing Obama’s race rather than his agenda to fundamentally transform America. Instinctively, blacks will flock to the polls in defense of their brother against those white tea party rednecks.”

Johnny Cochran brilliantly exploited The Black Code in the OJ trial. Cochran proved himself to be a master of misdirection on the level of Houdini.

He made the original focus of the trial, a husband practically beheading his wife and mother of his children, disappear. Magically, the OJ trial became about America’s original sin of slavery, the mistreatment of blacks over the years and Affirmative Action justice.

Cochran had blacks so fired up and united against white America; they forgave OJ’s extreme violation of The Black Code. Not only did OJ have too many white friends, he even married a white woman.

Still, black America embraced OJ as one of theirs and they were not going to let white America punish him.

This is why OJ’s “not guilty” verdict sparked a roar of black rejoicing heard around the world.

Black America’s jubilation over the verdict left me disappointed with several of my respected black family and friends. I found myself alone in my disapproval thinking, “I don’t get it. Why are they celebrating a man getting away with brutally murdering his wife?”

The emergence of Obama as America’s first black presidential candidate automatically activated The Black Code in the hearts and minds of most black Americans.

Obama’s socialistic ideas, anti America associations and friends were irrelevant. Once again, I found myself odd man out with family and black friends.

Similar to the movie, “Invasion of the Body Snatchers”, black America’s ability to reason ceased. With glazed over eyes, black America became zombies repeating a mantra dictated by The Black Code, “Must support the black man….Must support the black man….Must…”

Consequences for violating The Black Code are severe. I boldly proclaim myself to be an unhyphenated American rather than the politically correct term, “African-American”. It never occurred to me my statement would be seen as a violation of The Black Code.

Folks, you would be stunned by the level of hatred, including a death threat; I have received from fellow blacks for simply calling myself an “American”.

Forces demanding loyalty to The Black Code are extremely powerful, intimidating and potentially dangerous. Black racist minster Rev. Wright scolded blacks not submissive to The Black Code saying, “I am tired of Negroes who just don’t get it!”

I am a Christian. My loyalty to righteousness and truth trumps intimidation and any deep seeded loyalty to skin color.

Obama’s social justice agenda is evil and toxic to freedom, liberty and America. I will keep praying for God’s guidance as how to inspire my fellow black Americans to liberate themselves from The Black Code; removing the scales from their eyes allowing them to see and embrace the truth.

I am confident come November 2012, Barack Hussein Obama will not receive 96% of the black vote.

I consulted my Thesaurus because I thought I have been over working the word “despicable” in my articles.

However, my research confirmed the word best describes what passes for the modern civil rights movement and Obama administration.

I watched a video in which Al Sharpton concluded MLK fought for social justice. He mischaracterized Dr King’s dream saying it was to make everything equal in everybody’s house.

Sharpton said MLK did not fight simply to put one black family in the White House.  

MLK was a Republican. And yet, Al Sharpton addressed a congregation of ill-informed blacks, lying to them about MLK’s mission. Sharpton thrives on keeping racial tension, suspicion and hate alive.

To maintain relevance and his cherished seat of power at the Democratic Party round table.

Sharpton must continue to deliver a mind numb monolithic black vote; proving himself to be an asset to the furtherance of their social justice agenda.

Thus, Sharpton’s hatred of successful conservative blacks such as me. We threaten his gig.

Ironically, Sharpton is guilty of betraying his race, the very crime of which he accuses black conservatives.

Imagine the cruelty of not only allowing a person to believe, but reinforcing the lie that the individual is a pauper, all the while seeing a thousand dollar bill in the hopeless person’s back pocket unknown to him or her.

This is what Sharpton does to black America when he preaches that they are not equal.

While in realty, they are extraordinarily blessed to live in the greatest land of opportunity on the planet for ALL who choose to go for it. Despicable!

Then, there is former Obama administration Green Jobs Adviser Van Jones.

Jones is another strong advocate for social justice. Incredibly, this man truly believes fairness is government making everyone’s life equal. http://bit.ly/hG5TCR

Jones was forced to resign when Glenn Beck and others raised heck.

However, Obama would not have appointed the anti-traditional America radical socialist in the first place unless he agreed with Jones.

My fellow Americans, we’re in deep trouble.

Patriots, the concept of social justice (government making everyone’s life equal) is insane, absurd and evil.

It completely nullifies the human spirit, ambition, freedom to be all one can be and American Exceptionalism; all the things which have made America great.

In typical mindless “make he feel good” fashion, a lib once told me, “Everyone deserves to live in a mansion”. While sounding compassionate, his statement is idiotic.

When I was 9 years old, my family moved into a brand new government funded housing project; an eleven story building. As per my recollection, most residents trashed the building.

Only a hand full displayed gratitude, pride of ownership and respect for their homes. Poverty minded “gimme” parasites would turn a mansion into a ghetto.

As I said, the concept of social justice, government attempting to manufacture equal overcomes, is totally un-American and just plain nuts. And yet, this is obviously Obama’s agenda.

And, what does the first black president do to begin implementing his social justice utopia?

The thug who thinks he is king divisively irresponsibly and mercilessly drags all opposition out into the public square and brands them racist. Despicable!

Please take a moment to comprehend the extreme consequence of Obama’s promise to “fundamentally transform America”. Think of the unmitigated gall and arrogance in his statement.

Who the heck is Obama to change the vision of our Founding Fathers and shred our Constitution which has made us the most powerful, successful and altruistic nation on the planet in only 235 years?

How dare Obama conclude America needs a fundamental transformation? Patriots, where is the outrage?

No one has asked, “Mr. President, you vowed to fundamentally transform America. But, into what?”

There is a lot of chatter claiming the massive media coverage and public interest in the Casey Anthony case confirms America is racist.

They say if Casey and her daughter were black, no one would care.

They claim the story is popular because the missing child is white and cute.

I say, “Hogwash!”

Some blacks have a “black eternal victim chip” on their shoulder while others (liberals) relish every opportunity to dump on America and her good, decent, compassionate and extremely generous people.

The U.S. Department of Justice reports 797,500 children (younger than 18) were reported missing in a one-year period; an average of 2,185 children being reported missing each day.

I am sure many of these missing children are beautiful white kids receiving no media attention.

The Casey Anthony case is simply another unexplainable and unpredictable media “perfect storm”. The right reporters, social networking, home movie, cast of characters and timing all fell in place to make the Anthony story go viral.

While ad agencies earn a living attempting to direct and predict public response, no one truly knows what will strike a strong chord with the public.

Film makers and music industry professionals cannot solidly predict a hit. Hollywood directors Ron Howard and Clint Eastwood said films they thought would do extremely well did not while other films did unexpectedly well; a movie perfect storm.

As a songwriter, I joked, “While I’m wasting time attempting to write thoughtful lyrics, Tag Team had a monster hit with, Whoop!

There It Is”.

Who knows what will grab the public? Tag Team’s hit was the result of a music perfect storm.

How many times have you asked, “This video got 40 million hits on YouTube? It’s cute, but I don’t get it”. Yet, another example of a “perfect storm” of ingredients creating a phenomenon.

Quincy Jones said of the Michael Jackson “Thriller” album that while they knew they produced a great record, numerous unexplained, unplanned and unpredicted things happened causing sales to soar into the stratosphere; a perfect storm.

Folks, certain things are simply meant to be. So, all you folks rubber stamping an “R” for racist on the forehead of Americans who were fascinated by the Casey Anthony trial, stop it. For various reasons and uncontrollable forces, the Anthony case took off.

At last year’s pro-Hamas flotilla on May 31, 2010, 9 Turks died and Israel was unfairly vilified.

This year’s “Freedom Flotilla” was to be larger with more ships, more activists and more press.  

Last May the Turkish ship the Mavi Marmara was part of the Gaza Freedom Flotilla that attempted to break the Israeli blockade of Gaza.

When the dust and sea water settled 9 Turks were dead along with 7 Israeli soldiers injured with gunshot and stab wounds.

All year long while several investigations into the Israeli raid were underway the “Free Gaza Movement” and the IHH (Insani Yardim Vakfi, “humanitarian relief fund”) were planning the next flotilla.

This year the “Freedom Flotilla 2” has been postponed more times than there are versions of what happened last year.

Originally hoping to fall on or around the anniversary of last year’s Flotilla of May 31, it was to be better planned, more cohesive with more countries and people involved, but it has yet to sail.

On June 17 it was announced by the president of the IHH that the Mavi Marmara would not join the other ships in the Flotilla,

“I want to make it clear why the Mavi Marmara is not sailing with the flotilla to Gaza: The exact reason has nothing to do with the government or the state, it is exactly about the technical problems.

The Israelis, unbelievably, damaged our vessel, the Mavi Marmara [last year],” Bülent Yıldırım, head of the İHH nongovernmental organization, which was organizing the ship’s participation in the flotilla, told a press conference Friday at İHH headquarters in Istanbul.

Interestingly this claim of damage to the ship did not come out until after pressure had been put on Turkey’s Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to stop the flotilla from sailing to Gaza.

In advance of this year’s planned flotilla, 36 members of the House of Representatives sent a letter to Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan last month, saying he had a “unique opportunity to potentially save lives,” by discouraging the flotilla from leaving for Gaza.

Earlier this month, Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu suggested that “the aid flotilla should also wait to see what happens with the Rafah [Gaza-Egypt] border crossing being opened.”

In my article of June 6, I wrote about the various countries taking part in this year’s flotilla,

Thus far, France, Germany, Britain, Italy, Ireland, Belgium, Norway, Holland, Switzerland, Greece, Sweden, Spain, Canada and the United States have ships involved with passengers possibly reaching 1000 or more.

I also explained that with the Rafeh border between Egypt and Gaza now open this flotilla was not even necessary and was nothing more than provocation,

Why, if the border is open, is there any need for this so called “humanitarian aid”? Since the closing of the borders both Israel and Egypt have been allowing aid through, so long as the items could not be utilized for weapons or weapons manufacturing.

This never mattered to any of the “rights” groups that have supported the flotillas.

There can be only one reason to break the Israeli blockade of Gaza. Provocation. This needs to be put to rest once and for all.

One of the many setbacks was the accusation of sabotage by Israel to some of the ships participating.

On Monday, the propeller of the Greek-Swedish ship “Juliano” was found broken, and Gaza flotilla organizers said they believed it was deliberate sabotage by Israel.

Another ship, the Irish Saorise, was also reported to have been damaged and its activists claimed Israel was behind it. Surprisingly, even the Turkish Police investigation cleared Israel of being involved according to the Turkish Daily Hurriyet,

The Irish boat planning to participate in this year’s Gaza-bound aid flotilla was damaged before it entered Turkish waters, according to Turkish authorities who investigated claims by the owner that the ship had been sabotaged while in port in Göcek.

Turkish authorities investigated allegations that the Irish-owned ship, the MV “Saoirse” (Freedom), which was planning to participate in Freedom Flotilla 2, was sabotaged in Turkish territorial waters by Israel.

The accusations are the second since boats started arriving in the eastern Mediterranean ahead of the flotilla’s planned voyage.

Organizers for the Saoirse said the engine of the Irish vessel was damaged in such a way that the ship would have sunk in the middle of the ocean and that the ship was docked in Turkey’s territorial waters when the tampering occurred.

Many of the ships participating in the flotilla have met up in Greece, but Greece then put a ban on any ships leaving its port for Gaza.

On Friday, the Greek coastguard announced that the Gaza-bound mission could not leave their ports — at least for the moment.

‘The departure of ships with Greek and foreign flags from Greek ports to the maritime area of Gaza has been prohibited today,’ the coastguard said in a statement released Friday, an hour before the ship set sail.

‘All appropriate measures’ should be taken to implement the ban, it said.

The American ship, named The Audacity of Hope after US President Barack Obama’s best-selling book, was organized by an American group called “US Boat to Gaza.”

According to Human Events website the ship was stopped on Saturday just off the coast of Greece and its Captain arrested,

Greek officials stopped “The Audacity of Hope” Gaza Flotilla II ship and arrested the captain after they slipped out of port without permission.

Greece’s coast guard said the captain of the “Audacity of Hope” faces charges of trying to leave port without permission and of endangering the lives of the boat’s passengers.

The “Audacity of Hope” was carrying 36 passengers, four crew and about 10 members of the media. Its attempt to sail Friday night from the port of Perama, near Athens, was thwarted by coast guard speedboats.

Just yesterday, the Canadian ship “Tahrir” attempted to leave port in Greece only to have the same outcome.

As the Canadian ship departed from the port with all passengers on board wearing life vests, the Greek coastguard tracked the ship in the water and boarded it within minutes.

After seizing the ship, coast guard officers asked who was the captain but the passengers refused to reply, with every passenger saying that he was the captain.

Greek coast guard officers are currently sailing the Tahrir back to the port, and the passengers are all due to be taken into custody by Greek authorities.

Now, as a show of good faith, Greece has offered to ship the aid to Gaza on its own ships. As reported by the Voice of America,

The Greek initiative would have the humanitarian aid currently aboard flotilla ships loaded onto watercraft of the Greek government and transferred to Gaza through organized channels.

The supplies would be shipped to Gaza through Israeli ports as requested by U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.

Earlier Sunday, Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou discussed the offer with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. Greece said the plan would involve “constant contact with the Palestinian Authority” and that Mr. Abbas had expressed his support.

The Israeli government also agreed to Greece’s offer.

So even Greece, who certainly has their own problems right now, is attempting to stop what it sees as nothing more than provocation, but the activists insist on sailing to Gaza.

Organizers of a pro-Palestinian flotilla bound for the Gaza Strip have rejected a Greek government offer that would ferry humanitarian aid to Gaza using its own vessels under United Nations supervision.

Activists late Sunday said they still are looking into ways to circumvent Greece’s order preventing ships docked in its ports from departing for the Hamas-run Palestinian territory.

So what is the real reason behind this flotilla? Obviously, if getting aid to the Palestinian people was the main concern why would they not accept the offer from Greece?

Accepting the offer from Greece would not only avoid any chance of confrontation, it would be less costly for the activists, who could then give the money saved to the Palestinians as well. But, then again, it would avoid what they really want which is confrontation.

Unfortunately, even though it seems that the flotilla may not sail at this point in time, I have no doubt they will spend more time and money to get this voyage underway.

This would prove it has nothing to do with aid and everything to do with making Israel look like the bad guys yet again.

Remember this once they set sail, get stopped by Israel and undoubtedly have a confrontation. The argument of aid can’t hold water.

A street sign to honor some of the firefighters who were killed on 9/11 is being protested by atheists absolute jerks.  

Seven Brooklyn firefighters died on 9/11 and the city chose to honor them by renaming a street, “Seven in Heaven Way.”  

Here is what Fox News has to say on this subject:

A group of New York City atheists is demanding that the city remove a street sign honoring seven firefighters killed in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks because they say the sign violates the separation of church and state. 

The street, “Seven in Heaven Way,” was officially dedicated last weekend in Brooklyn outside the firehouse where the firefighters once served.

The ceremony was attended by dozens of firefighters, city leaders and widows of the fallen men. 

“There should be no signage or displays of religious nature in the public domain,” said Ken Bronstein, president of New York City Atheists. “It’s really insulting to us.”

Bronstein told Fox News Radio that his organization was especially concerned with the use of the word “heaven.” “We’ve concluded as atheists there is no heaven and there’s no hell,” he said. 

“And it’s a totally religious statement. It’s a question of separation of church and state.” He was nonplussed over how his opposition to the street sign might be perceived – especially since the sign is honoring fallen heroes. “It’s irrelevant who it’s for,” Bronstein said. “We think this is a very bad thing,”  

David Silverman, president of American Atheists, agreed calling on the city to remove the sign. “It implies that heaven actually exists,” Silverman told Fox News Radio. 

“People died in 9/11, but they were all people who died, not just Christians. Heaven is a specifically Christian place. For the city to come up and say all those heroes are in heaven now, it’s not appropriate.”

“All memorials for fallen heroes should celebrate the diversity of our country and should be secular in nature. These heroes might have been Jews, they might have been atheists, I don’t know, but either way it’s wrong for the city to say they’re in heaven. It’s preachy.”

You know what?  Ken Bronstein and his ilk are insulting to real Americans.  85% of Americans identify themselves as Christian in some way.  

For these few clowns to be absolute jerks and ruin a memorial to some American heroes and their families is totally outrageous.

Of course, this is another lesson in tolerance.  

Those atheists absolute jerks are the first in line to demand tolerance from real Americans for their goofy beliefs.

Tolerance is a two way street and if they do not want to be tolerant, there is no reason why real Americans should be tolerant of them.

Today is a great day to be a Dad in America.  Today, your kids worship you.  Well, maybe not worship, but they are going to give you a lot of good attention.  

It is summer in America so unless the weather precludes it, there is probably a cook out or some other outdoor activities in your future today.

Today, Dad’s get gifts from their kids.  It is stereotypical that the gift be a tie.  I am probably the only father I know who likes getting ties for Father’s day.   My kids always get me a specific brand of very colorful ties. 

For American men, through their lives, Father’s day has a specific pattern.  First as you grow up, you give your father gifts.   

Then when you become a father, you not only give your gifts but then you receive them.  

Finally, you no longer give Father’s day gifts because you father is no longer living.  I am in that third category.  This is the third Father’s day that has passed since my father died in 2008.

My father was a child of the great depression.  His father was an artisan who made furniture so he had employment through out the great depression.   In 1937, my father turned 18 and graduated from High School.  

Employment prospects then were not great and I think he was looking for a little adventure in his life, so my father joined the United States Army.  In the years before World War II, the Army was much different than it is today. 

Of all of the places the Army could have sent my father, they sent him to a place called Fort Barrancas.   What is left of Fort Barrancas is now a part of Naval Air Station Pensacola in Florida.   

He was a part of the Coastal Artillery.  His job was to shoot big guns into the Gulf of Mexico.   Most of those gun emplacements are still on Santa Rosa Island in Fort Pickens National Park today.    

Several years ago, before Alzheimer’s claimed my father’s memories, we went with him to his unit reunion and he showed us some of the places where he spent his youth.

For a young man, the Army was a great gig.  When he was not on duty, he and his friends could fish and play on the beaches and Pensacola is a great military town.  My father said it couldn’t get any better than this.

As my father’s enlistment drew towards a close, the storm clouds of war started looming on the horizon.   Some of his relatives who had served in World War I told him, the peacetime Army can be a lot of fun.  It was not nearly as much fun in war.  

For whatever reason, he made plans to leave the Army.  He was days away from getting out when he received orders extending his military service indefinitely.

As America entered war, my father accepted his fate.  Whatever was in his future, it could not be better than what he was currently doing. 

He received orders and in early 1942, he took command of an anti aircraft battery in Hollywood, California.   For two years, life was good for him.  In Hollywood, most men his age were being drafted.  

He loved it.  

He said it could not get any better than this.  And this time he was right.  In 1944, he received new orders and this time he got an all expense paid tour of Western Europe with George Patton.

My father spoke very little of Europe.  I don’t think he spent much time on the front lines, but only one out of five soldiers in Europe saw regular combat so if that is the case, he was certainly in the majority.   

The war ended and in 1946, my father demobilized.  He liked the military well enough that when he came home he went into the National Guard.  A couple of years later, his unit became part of the Air National Guard, after the creation of the Department of the Air Force.  

In 1950, the Korean War started and his unit was activated for that.  My father served almost three years in Korea and as that conflict wound down, he was going to be demobilized again. 

At that point, he had almost sixteen years in the military.  He said to heck with this demobilization stuff and stayed in the Air Force.  He got to travel the world for a few years, have a few more adventures before meeting my mother, marrying and welcoming my brother and I into the world.

1965 found him at Westover Air Force Base in Massachusetts.    At six years old, the world does not matter a whole lot to a child, but it does to a father.  

My father had wanted to do one more tour to complete a full thirty years in the military.  

The Air Force was going to give him that tour.  Unfortunately that tour was going to be in Viet Nam.  My father thought about it.  He had done two wars for this country and now he had a young family, which he had not had in the other two wars.  He said enough and punched out.

My father and mother returned to their original home of Memphis, Tennessee when he left the Air Force.  He worked a couple of jobs after the military before going into real estate.  He eventually retired, as did the rest of the Greatest Generation.

Both he and my mother are now gone.  The Greatest Generation is fading rapidly from us.  My father’s generation destroyed two powerful enemies, Japan and Germany in a world war, then spent the rest of their lives fighting communism.  As the Greatest Generation walked off the world stage, communism fell.

For forty years, World War II vets lead this country.  From Eisenhower to George H.W. Bush.  Reagan was clearly the best of this generation of leaders.  Lyndon Johnson and Jimmy Carter were clearly the worst. 

My father’s generation created the baby boom generation.  In 1992, as Soviet Communism fell, they left the public stage and let the baby boomers take over.   

To put it mildly, the boomers have been terrible.  We have one bad boomer President (Clinton), one boomer President who is at best, a mixed result (Bush) and one horrible boomer President (Obama).  

Of course given how much of Obama’s early life was shaped outside of this country, it is hard to call him a boomer President and it is even unfair to this poor generation to label him as one of them. 

In January 2013, odds are we will elect yet another boomer President.  Of all of the candidates and potential candidates, only two are not boomers.  75-year-old Ron Paul, who will not be elected predates the boom and Sarah Palin, who is most likely not running was born in 1964.   Most historians generally accept that the baby boom ended in 1963. 

Perhaps this next President will redeem his generation.  Perhaps we will have one great boomer President.  The next President certainly needs to be great if the country has a prayer of recovering and surviving. 

Perhaps in this next election, we can find the boomer version of Ronald Reagan.  

The boomer generation will never be regarded as the greatest generation.  We have screwed up too much.   

Perhaps, as the boomers hit 65 and start to move off the stage, at the end, we can redeem ourselves and save our country. 

At least, that is my prayer.
